Zoom

What This Does

Zoom AI Companion automatically generates meeting summaries and action items from recorded video calls, turning your borrower intake meetings and annual review calls into structured call reports without any note-taking.

Before You Start

  • You have Zoom installed and a Zoom account (AI Companion requires Zoom Pro or higher)
  • Your bank's meeting recording and AI policy allows recording borrower calls (verify with compliance before using)
  • The borrower has consented to recording (Zoom notifies participants automatically when recording starts)

Steps

1. Enable AI Companion in your meeting

Start your Zoom meeting. Click the AI Companion button at the bottom of the Zoom toolbar (looks like a sparkle/star icon). Click Start next to "Meeting Summary." Zoom will note in the chat that meeting summary is enabled.

2. Hold your meeting normally

Conduct your borrower intake or annual review call as you normally would. Take any notes you normally take. AI Companion runs in the background and captures the transcript.

3. Access your summary after the meeting

After the meeting ends, Zoom will send you an email with the AI-generated summary. It includes:

  • Key discussion topics: what was covered
  • Action items: tasks mentioned during the call with owners (e.g., "Borrower will send tax returns by Friday")
  • Decisions made: key outcomes from the discussion

Copy the summary into your loan file or CRM call report field.

Real Example

Scenario: You conducted a 45-minute borrower intake call with the owner of a distribution company applying for a $1.5M line of credit. You discussed the business history, revenue trends, seasonality, key customers, and what documents would be needed.

What Zoom generates: A 4-paragraph summary covering business overview, financial discussion highlights, the document checklist discussed, and a bulleted action item list: "Send 3 years of business tax returns by March 15," "Provide current AR/AP aging," "Owner to confirm whether line is for working capital or equipment."

What good output looks like: 300-500 word structured summary with 3-6 action items, each with a clear owner (you or borrower) and implied deadline.

Tips

  • Review action items carefully. Zoom sometimes misattributes who is responsible for an action, so fix those before filing.
  • If your bank doesn't allow Zoom recording with borrowers, use the same workflow for internal credit committee calls and team meetings. Compliance is clearer there.
  • For long calls (60+ minutes), ask the AI to "focus on action items and next steps" in the summary request. Long summaries can bury the most important items.
